Steak Stir Fry

Description:
Inspired by a black pepper stir-fried steak dish I had in a small mom and pop restaurant, this dish is delightful. Serve over brown rice for added fiber and taste.

Ingredients:
2 t. Peppercorns
¾ pound Round Steak
1 T. Soy Sauce
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1/4 t. Sea Salt
1 bunch Green Onions, chopped
3 T. Sesame Oil
1-15 oz can Water Chestnuts, sliced
1 T. water
1 t. sugar
2 cups Broccoli, small florets

Instructions:
In small frying pan, dry fry peppercorns for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Let cool. Place peppercorns into plastic bag, crush with meat mallet, or use mortar and pestle to roughly grind peppercorns.
Cut steak into thin pieces. Place ground peppercorns, sliced steak, soy sauce, garlic, sea salt, and green onions into a bowl, mix well, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Heat wok or heavy skillet, add 1 ½ T. sesame oil. Drain steak and stir fry in small batches until browned, using remaining oil as needed. Add the water chestnuts, water, sugar and broccoli. Cover and steam for 2 minutes. Return steak to skillet or wok. Stir fry for 1 minutes. Serve hot over steamed brown rice.
